Summer Camp Report

PROGRAM

In this year’s Gold Rush mining theme, two teams of miners, the Rail Runners and Cave Crawlers, are battling in competitions for a week long game “down in the mines” to be the team that acquires the most gold by the end of the week. Campers enjoy such activities as Cattle Drive, Bazookaball, the Giant Swing, McGuckit’s escape room, and a few Mt. Lou San classics like Big Ball Bonanza and Derailment. Cabins can also earn gold for memorizing God’s Word, having the cleanest cabin, and showing off their team spirit in creative ways. We praise God that all these program elements can be used for the greater purpose of positioning campers to be more receptive of the Gospel messages.

CHAPEL/QUIET TIME

The focus of our junior camp chapels was on Jesus! What an incredible time we had encouraging young people to Meet Jesus, Treasure Jesus, Follow Jesus and Share Jesus. A unique Cross Walk took campers around our property to various scenes leading up to the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We are praising God for how He worked in the lives of the campers. Many children trusted Christ as personal Savior, and others made commitments to deal with sin, start a daily quiet time, and share their faith with others.

SUMMER STAFF

In addition to our Encounter team and full-time staff, 20 Operational staff members joined our crew. Behind the scenes tasks like food service, housekeeping, grounds keeping, and maintenance are so necessary to the ongoing of the ministry, and the staff has risen to the challenge. Also, the daily discipleship course has helped deepen their relationship with the Lord and given them opportunities to shadow counselors and share with campers.
