Keep Singing

Job 35:9-11, Psalms 33:1-3, 96:1-2, Ephesians 5:19-20, James 5:13, Philippians 4:4-7

It is true that some people have voices that bring joy and refreshing while others may not.  However, in the scriptures, we are often instructed to “Sing praises to the Lord”. It is by obeying these words that one is refreshed and encouraged.  Often, we sing the praises to the Lord in the quietness of our soul and although others do not hear, see the effects of our rejoicing.  Singing to God:

  • Reminds us of His blessings

  • Sets one’s focus on God

  • Helps one to see beyond now

  • Brings joy where sorrow exists

  • Brings light where there was darkness

Singing does refresh the soul.  Take a few moments now and sing to the Lord in your soul. One of my favorite hymns is  Day by Day as I am reminded that the “strength I find to meet my trials here” and this is what is needed at this hour.

Prayer: Lord, I sing praise to You and thank You for new life, answers to prayer, joy, victory, and all the rich blessings You have showered on my life.
