Do You Want to be Sick

Proverbs 14:30, 17:22, 18:14, Matthew 11:28-30, Ecclesiastes 7:3, 11:9, Philippians 4:8, Romans 8:28

It has been said that many people that are sick and even in the hospital do not have a physical problem.  What a person thinks about and focuses on determines how they will feel and act.  When a person centers on:

  • Problems

  • Difficulties

  • Pain

  • Challenges…

…the person becomes defeated, frustrated, depressed, and anxious.  Yes, there are times of sickness and ill health, but often a person makes themselves sick by where their attention is focused.  Problems and challenges cannot be wished away for there is much in the Scriptures about diligence and honesty.  However, when one focuses on:

  • The goodnesses of God

  • The blessings of the Lord

  • The promises of the Lord…

…they will be refreshed and live out the truths of the power and presence of the Lord each day. The cheerful and happy person has a greater impact that honors the Lord than one who is gloomy, irritable, and centered on their challenges of life.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for Your presence and Your promises. Remind me to focus on Your goodness and the blessings in my life that I honor You and refresh others.
