Light in the Storm
II Corinthians 4:1-18, Romans 8:28, Philippians 4:6-7, Isaiah 43:2, Isaiah 26:3, John 14:27
Many times in life we encounter storms and problems which may occur in one’s finances, health, family, job, church, relationships, or other aspects of life. When these storms come one needs to anchor their thoughts and life in the promises and Word of God (such as in Psalm 30:5, Psalm 34:19, Psalm 41:3, and Psalm 23:1-6). As one rests in the promises and ways of God they are reminded that God may allow or bring storms in life:
To refine - John 15:12
To strengthen - Isaiah 41:10
To teach lessons of life - Proverbs 3:5-6
To demonstrate His power - II Corinthians 4:15
To get one’s attention - Proverbs 3:11-12
As the storms and difficulties come into the believer’s life it is important that they pray, endeavor to see the situation from God’s perspective, be thankful, and praise God for all He is doing in their life as they anchor their life and thoughts in the Bible.
