Becoming a Christian.

Are you ready to turn your life over to Jesus Christ? It is the greatest thing that you will ever do! The following is a step-by-step plan of how to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior. True salvation can only come from a heart of genuine repentance and the work of the Holy Spirit to change you into a new creation. Reading this webpage and completing the steps will not save you, but if you have reached a point of genuine repentance in your life, this list can help to guide you in your conversation with the one true and living God.

God Loves You!
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." John 3:16

God has a wonderful plan for your life!
"I am come that they might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly." John 10:10b

  1. Because of our sin, we are separated from God.
"For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;" Romans 3:23

  2. The Penalty for our sin is death.
"For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23

  3. The penalty for our sin was paid by Jesus Christ!
"But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:8

  4. If we repent of our sin, then confess and trust Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior, we will be saved from our sins!
"For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10:13

"...if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation." Romans 10:9,10

Now that you are a "new creature" in Jesus Christ, the road ahead will be full of life changing experiences.

Growing in knowledge and understanding of the Bible and your Christian walk with God is essential for your spiritual growth. Here are some ways that you can grow as a Christian

  1. Be baptized.
Baptism identifies you with Christ. Acts 8:35-40

  2. Study the Bible.
The Bible will guide you through life and answer life's questions.

"Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path." Psalm 119:105

"Study to show thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." II Timothy 2:15.

  3. Share your faith with others.
"Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord..." 2 Timothy 1:8a

"Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess also before My Father which is in heaven." Matthew 10:32

"But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the  uttermost part of the earth." Acts 1:8

  4. Be part of a local church.
    Fellowship with other Christians.
"And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is, but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching." Hebrews 10:24,25

God desires to meet your needs!
Make prayer a part of your daily life. Luke 11:2-4
