"A year on an Encounter Team will hold some of the most memorable and spiritually foundational experiences of your life."

- Ardy Parlin, Founder & Director

Each year, a select group of young adults invest their lives in the ministries of Encounter to be trained in the truths of God’s Word, grow spiritually and minister to others in various settings.

A year with an Encounter Team is designed to prepare young men and women for a life of effective ministry while they are involved in communicating God’s love and Biblical truths through music, teaching, dramas and more.

Coming from a variety of backgrounds, and now living together everyday, our team of young people quickly become a “family” - one unit committed to spiritual obedience and the proclamation of God’s Word.

The experiences had on the team are mightily used by God to establish a firm foundation in His Word and to give direction for usefulness in the future. Those who spend time with Encounter continue to be involved in ministry throughout their life with a pursuit of a life of impact and obedience.

Encounter team members trust God to supply all their financial and personal needs so they can give themselves to ministry for an extended period of time. This means that each team member, as a missionary, is responsible for raising their own support. If you'd like to support a current team member financially, you can do that here.

If you are interested in committing a year of your life to ministry with Encounter, please complete an application online or through our printable Team Member Application.

Revival Meetings - Churches and Schools

Revival is a renewed conviction of sin and repentance, followed by an intense desire to live in obedience to God. It is giving up one’s will to God in deep humility.
— Charles Finney

Revival is a spiritual work of the Lord and cannot be arranged by man. Encounter Revival Ministries offers week-long meetings of spiritual emphasis that help provide believers and new-comers with a time for concentrated focus on the teachings of the Bible, allowing extended time in one's life to seek the face of God and allow Him to provide revival.

Our goals in coming to your church or school are:

  • To share the truths of spiritual awakening, renewal and vitality through the clear and practical teaching of the Word of God.
  • To uplift the soul through music that glorifies God, touches the heart and motivates the listener to respond in obedience to God.
  • To encourage believers to honestly examine their lives and obediently deal with any sin that God exposes for cleansing and victory.
  • To provide teaching and applications that strengthen the home and family.
  • To bring believers together in the unity of the local church for greater impact in the community.
  • To assist believers in establishing spiritual disciplines necessary for spiritual growth and usefulness.
  • To share the good news of Jesus Christ to those who do not know Him.

World Missions

India - Banjara Tribal Ministries

Pure religion is to visit the fatherless and the widows (James 1:27). It is our joy to have a very active role in this commission since we were exposed to the work of Christopher Boda and Banjara Tribal Ministries (BTM) in 2003. At any moment, BTM is caring for thousands of orphans and abandoned children in Hyderabad, India across multiple campuses. The provision of the children's meals, clothing and education is a day-to-day need that we have seen God provide through his people for years. BTM has remained deeply faithful to it's calling to care for abandoned boys and girls in India and disciple them to spread the Gospel throughout their own country.

Zambia - African Encounter Team

In 2005, during the Encounter Team's annual missions trip, we became acquainted with a Zambian national named Leonard Bwalya who, inspired by our young singers, began his own team of young adults. Lined up and singing the message of God’s truth to us, we were introduced to the African Encounter Team (AERM). As we saw the potential for great evangelism in Zambia through this team of young Zambians, Encounter began supporting AERM by helping provide funds, training and discipleship materials.

AERM now cares for a 40 acre farm property that provides camp activities and evangelism, as well as food, for local villages. They are also strongly invested in caring for orphans, distributing evangelistic materials and disciplining local pastors.

Myanmar

In 2009, Encounter began supporting a native missionary in Myanmar by the name of Pastor James. His ministry to his home country is spreading the Gospel in a predominantly Buddhist environment. Pastor James is also very committed to caring for orphans, often sharing his own home to give them shelter, planting churches, and developing farms to provide food for villagers. We are blessed to be a part of a faithful ministry in Myanmar, reaching people for Christ in far away places.

Summer camp ministry

Mt. Lou San Bible Camp serves as the national headquarters of Encounter Revival Ministries. From this location in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Encounter operates its discipleship program for the Encounter Team, as well as its ongoing ministry as a summer camp and retreat center.

A week at summer camp with us is a life-changing adventure filled with awesome activities and spiritual growth.
