Matt Moon
6 May 2009 at 9:02am
We ask for you to pray with us on behalf of team member Matt Moon. Matt was admitted to the hospital last week shortly after returning from Zambia. He was diagnosed with having a ruptured appendix, and was operated on to remove his appendix. However, he is having a difficult and lengthy recovery. His doctors are attributing this to their assessment that his appendix most likely had been ruptured for 2-3 days before being removed, allowing toxins to be spread all throughout his body and infection to set in. The doctors are suspecting that an abscess may be developing inside his incision, so this morning Matt will be having a CT scan to verify whether or not that is the case. Our prayers for him are that his body will be strengthened to fight the infection, and that all his organs will return to functioning properly, allowing him to keep liquids and eventually solids down. Please pray also for the comforting of his family as they support him through this difficult time.

Thank you to everyone in the Encounter family who has been praying for Matt Moon. Matt was hospitalized on April 27 with a ruptured appendix. After 2 weeks of battling infection and trouble with his organs, he has begun to show good signs of recovery. He was released from Harrisburg hospital yesterday and went home to Indiana with his parents to recover. He still has several weeks before he is fully recovered, but we rejoice and praise God for restoring Matt’s health.
