Rest and Courage for My Soul

As I open the door to a new day, the sunshine is peaking through the trees, reminding me again that God is all-powerful. He who created and maintains this world is interested in me and wants to lead, bless, and sustain me. The tendency of the human soul is to slip into yesterday and pick up the heavy burdens of life that we laid down as we crawled into bed for a few hours of rest.  But wait! My Lord does not want me to pick up the burdens. Rather He wants me to give them to Him. Why should I try again to carry burdens from yesterday and the days before?

Burdens weigh so heavily on my mind, soul, and physical body. Like a child trying to lift a heavy sack, I try again and again to lift and carry the burdens. My Lord speaks, "Oh my child, this is more than you can bear. Give it to me, and I will carry it for you by sustaining and granting you grace, strength, wisdom. and joy in your journey."

The challenges and mountains are a part of life. Without them the soul would slip into ease and self-pursuits. Yes, the path today may seem unpleasant, difficult, challenging, and even hurtful to this pilgrim; but God has promised to be with me and give all that I need to face and walk through this day.

With the promises and presence of God, I walk into this new day with confidence and joy sustained by Almighty God.
Psalm 55:22, II Corinthians 12:9, Matthew 11:28-29

Invest Your Time Carefully

One of the most important lessons to learn in life is that of the value of each moment. Mankind has tried every possible device and plan to save time, but it just cannot be done. Time just keeps moving on, and today will soon be tomorrow, and tomorrow will be next week. So, what can we do about our time and life that goes by so quickly?

1. Pray for wisdom and discernment.
2. List the most important things that need to be done.
3. Give each one a priority number.
4. Write out a daily plan based on priority and importance.
5. Give each task a time span.
6. Follow the plan.
7. Transfer uncompleted items to next day.

Invest your time carefully, thanking God for each precious moment of life, and do not give up planning.

Making a Great Difference in Zambia!

It may not seem like much to some, but to Charity who lives in Zambia, the miracle of being able to walk, run, and play games like other children makes a great difference.

Being born with both feet bent inward prevented Charity from wearing shoes, running, playing, and enjoying the life of a child. What a great blessing that her surgery has been completed and soon she will be keeping up with the rest of the children.

Charity, along with 130 other neglected and desperately poor children, attend our Encounter school located in a distant village. It is our great joy to assist the teachers financially so they can continue to teach and help these dear children. Also our African Encounter staff is currently teaching the children how to plant and care for a garden so they will have food each day at school.

We are so thankful to the many friends that invested to change these children in Zambia. Charity and all the children will not forget the caring people who became LIFE CHANGERS by investing to make a difference.
