Ecclesiastes 12:13-14, Proverbs 1:7, Psalm 119:105
The Bible is God’s message to mankind for this life and eternity. To ignore and disregard the Bible is to ask for trouble and disaster. Often the Bible is treated as a suggestion book on various areas of life, when in fact it is God’s Word, law, counsel, guideline, principle, warning, and much more.
It is great wisdom to invest much time to read, study, meditate, memorize, and apply the Bible to every aspect and area of life. As a believer one should love the Bible, read it intently, and seek to obey it. However many Christians allow a busy schedule to rob them of time in the Word. We must be careful to adjust our daily schedule for time in the Word. It is in the Word that the heart, mind, and life are brought into obedience for God’s blessings and heavenly wisdom.
To live in the “fear of God” is to invest time in reading and applying the Bible to everyday life and living. Check out II Timothy 3:16-17.
