Watch and Guard Thoughts

Proverbs 21:5, Matthew 6:25, Isaiah 55:8, Philippians 4:8, II Corinthians 10:5

Thoughts are the driving force of life and determine one’s words, attitudes, responses, and much of conduct in general.  Thoughts are easily affected by pain, weather, people, and struggles, health, questions, and other aspects of life that we are confronted with each day.  If one is not careful, they are moved into depression, frustration, anger, and discouragement by thinking wrong and damaging thoughts.  However, good and godly thoughts will move one to joy, peace, a good attitude, and a blessing to others.  Just think about all you have now: food, clothing, shelter, heat, friends, family, transportation, health, and much more.

Proverbs 17:22 reminds us that “a merry heart doeth good like a medicine…”  A good medicine is to be careful and keep thoughts focused on the blessings, provisions, and promises of God.  Keep your thoughts going in the right direction to be a blessing to others, have the joy of the Lord, and be a useable vessel in God’s hand today.
