Proverbs 25:28, Exodus 20:1-17, Galatians 6:7-8
In a day and age when personal responsibility is abandoned and people just do whatever they wish, we are reminded that the Bible does not teach that practice.
There is much in the Scripture about obedience, diligence, and being responsible to live out daily the truths of Scripture. God knows that a life without rules and right practices is as chaotic as a sports event with no officials. In the last few years, the number of officials in most sporting events has been increased to be sure all rules are followed. Yet in life many have abandoned the rules, guidelines, and personal responsibility to follow the Bible and reap a life of disaster and ruin.
God has given mankind guidelines, rules, principles, and Biblical truth, along with many examples in the Word of each for our instruction and wisdom. A life without obedience to Biblical guidelines and rules will be as troublesome as a major sporting event with no officials. Obedience to the Bible in every area of life is of extreme importance. Based on one’s personal relationship with the Lord, we make the choice daily to obey the instructions of God’s Word.
Obedience is a choice.
