It is easy to overlook all the blessings that one receives on a daily basis. These children in Myanmar are thankful for what they do have instead of focusing on what they wish they could have. It is a good spiritual discipline to take time to reflect and give thanks to God for His abundant blessings and provisions.
Just stop for a moment. Look around and see all your blessings. Think about the gracious provisions in your life and give thanks. I Thessalonians 5:18 reminds us to “give thanks” in and for all things. However, if we do not discipline our mind and heart to focus on our blessings, we easily resort to laboring over all the things that we do not possess.
Just think and even make a list of all the blessings you have and enjoy today. After making a list, give thanks to the Lord for they all are from Him. (James 1:17)
We are reminded in Philippians 4:8 to think on things that are “true, honest, just, pure, lovely, good report and virtuous” and to focus on blessings brings good thoughts and happy reflections.
