Time with our Friend

It is refreshing to spend time with a friend to share joys, sorrows, victories, and blessings.  But there is no earthly friend that can console the soul like our Lord.

As we wait in the presence of our Lord, His many promises and words flood the mind.  The Spirit of God brings refreshing memories and reminders of His working in our daily life.  In His presence we can understand heavenly and earthly wisdom. (James 3:13-18) or see how our heart has been set on the wrong things (Matthew 6:25-34).  It is in His presence that one finds direction, answers, refreshing thoughts that give peace, hope, and courage and much more to continue on life’s journey.

There is no substitute for waiting in the presence of God, and the benefits are beyond measure.  Friends are wonderful and needed, but time with our Lord is vital to a life of victory and blessing.  In the busyness of life and the desire of time with friends, we must not neglect or shorten our time with the Lord.

“The reality of God’s presence is not dependent on any place, but only dependent upon the determination to set the Lord always before us.”  Oswald Chambers
