What’s on Your Mind?

It is hard to imagine what is on the mind of these needy and abandoned children living at the Banjara Tribal Ministries facilities in Hyderabad, India.

We are reminded in Scripture that the thoughts we allow to stay in our mind set the pace and tone of our life.  For some, their daily function is to think on things that are bad, hurting, difficult and troublesome which leads them down the path of discouragement, depression, sorrow, and more trouble.

In Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus teaches that we are to focus on His will and way rather than harboring thoughts of want and need.  In this life, we will have problems, but to allow these things to control our mind leads to regret and bondage. (Proverbs 23:7).  Rather we are to:

1.       Trust God: Proverbs 3:5-6
2.       Commit all to Him: Proverbs 16:3
3.       Thank God for everything: I Thessalonians 5:18
4.       Pray for strength, wisdom, and empowerment: Isaiah 40:31
5.       Focus on the goodness of God: Psalm 103:1-18
6.       Rejoice in the Lord: Philippians 4:4
7.       Share to help those in need: Isaiah 58:8-14

Be alert for “thoughts” that are contrary to the way, work, and will of God for life follows the path of the thoughts in the mind.
