Take Time to Pray

There is great joy to know that God hears and answers prayer.  These children in Myanmar are trusting God for things they know are humanly impossible.

Prayer is often the forgotten or neglected part of the Christian’s life.  In the busyness and rush of one’s daily life, spending time in the presence of God in prayer is slighted or simply not done.  The song writer penned this question, “Ere you left your room this morning, did you think to pray?”

Prayer is remembering and thanking God for His power and presence.  We can learn from prayers in the Bible such as the prayer in II Chronicles 20 that remembering the power and attributes of God is important.  Our God, Creator and Sustainer of the universe, is all-powerful yesterday, today, and forever.

As we pray today, let’s thank God for Who He is and what He has done.

Let’s remember His mighty acts on our behalf in the days past.

Rejoice in His love, mercy, and blessings.

Joyfully bring our requests and petitions before Him.

Give thanks for His abundant blessings and answers to our prayers.

Prayer is not a gimmick to get things from God but is a time of fellowship in His presence, listening to His leading and talking to Him about the needs and desires of our heart.  (Matthew 6:5-15)

Take time to PRAY.
