Your Face Tells the Story

Galatians 5:22-23, Matthew 12:34-35, II Corinthians 12:9, II Corinthians 4:1-7

The first image that others see as we approach them is our face and the expressions indicate and reflect what is going on in our heart.  Mom would tell us that she knew we were guilty or innocent by the expression on our face.  Jesus said that what is in the heart comes out on our lips and actions.  (Matthew 12:34-35)

It is God’s work in and on the heart and mind of the obedient Christian that produces the fruit of the Spirit and a God-honoring life.  It is in the surrendered life that God does His mysterious work so we can be a light in the dark world.

God gives grace, wisdom, strength, vision, understanding, peace, endurance, empowerment, and much more to all believers who commit, surrender, yield, and obey His Word.  As God works in and on the inner man, it is the obedience to His Spiirt that shows up on our face.

To change a reluctant, contaminated heart . . .

  1. Be honest about what is true.
  2. Admit sin as God convicts
  3. Thank God for victory in His presence and power.
  4. Do and say what is right.
  5. Meditate in and on the Word.
  6. Decide to keep going.

Remember, your face is what everyone sees first.
