Proverbs 24:14, Philippians 3:7-16, I Peter 5:8-9
It is important if a person plans to arrive at the desired destination that they keep on the right path. The athlete running a race is careful to keep his eyes straight ahead lest he is distracted.
Due to the distractions and allurements of this world, one must be on guard each day. Distractions of doing right and living in obedience to the Word appear many times in a day’s journey. The potential distractions can come from people, pleasures, and thoughts and must be detected and avoided daily.
One must be alert, wise, careful, and obedient to the Word as they move through life each day. Many times the distraction starts in small and seemingly meaningless ways, but over time leads one down the path of regret and sorrow.
The athlete wins the race one step at a time. Likewise one must be careful each day in their life journey that they do not become distracted and eventually off track. Check out Ephesians 5:15
