The Most Important Thing

It was an exciting day when these pastors in Zambia, Africa received their copy of a study Bible.  “A dream come true” was the response of one man.  It is their desire to know God and be better equipped to share His presence and message to their world.

In a country where Bibles are in abundant supply, it is easy to miss the importance of the Word.  Verses are memorized, and prizes are given but often the truth of God’s Word and His presence is missed.  A.W. Tozer said years ago that “your view of God is the most important thing about you.”  Yes, the Bible is truth, instruction, warning, wisdom, and much more.  However we must remember the Bible is the believer’s guide to know God and see His work in their life.  It appears that many have manufactured their own god to do and be what they think and desire.

Do we really trust God?  Are we willing to obey His Word no matter what?  Do we see God as all-powerful, all-knowing, and all-sufficient?  Are we really open to the life-changing events and people that God will bring into our life today?  Are we committed to serving and following God, or do we just want Him to do “things” for us that will make life easier?

Knowing God as we see Him in the Word and moving in our life daily is the great key to victory.
