The gardener knows that he must take care of the crops, or they will go to waste. So these Encounter Team members in Zambia, Africa are checking the fields for weeds and anything else that would not be good for the crops. They are concerned about being good stewards of what God has given to them.
Stewardship is an important matter that is often ignored. As children of God, we have given ourselves to Him. Therefore as good stewards, we are wise to keep a constant check on how we are using the resources that God has given to us. The resources not only include money but time, talents, opportunities, and responsibilities that God has placed in our life.
We often compare ourselves with others to make excuses for not being a careful steward. However, we will not be held accountable by God for what others do with their resources, but it is what we do with what God has given to us that is important. So what are you doing with what you have now? The apostle Paul reminds us in I Corinthians 4:2 that “moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” God blesses those believers who are good stewards and faithful to use all that He has given.
