The wise farmer knows that the seeds planted dictate what crop will grow. No farmer ever planted one seed and hoped for a different crop to grow. So it is in our life. The activities that we are involved in each day are the planting of “seeds” that will eventually come up in our life garden. Often a lie, impure activity, cheating, unkindness, slothfulness, and a host of other sins are planted in one’s life without the thought of the results that will follow.
The wise person is careful to check their daily life for any activities, thoughts, or simple steps that are contrary to the Word of God. The reading of a chapter of Proverbs each day is a great discipline that brings areas to our attention that should be checked or stopped.
It is in reading and obeying the Word of God that the wise person is warned about areas in their life that should be stopped and or changed lest they reap a harvest of regret and trouble. The Apostle Paul reminds us in Galatians 6:16-21 that we should “walk in the Spirit.”
We must not forget that the law of the harvest is true, so be careful what we plant each day.
