ENCOUNTER MINISTERING IN INDIA
It has been our great joy for six years to assist in the care of needy children in India. This began when God orchestrated for us to meet a unique and special Indian evangelist by the name of Christopher Boda. God’s miraculous work in his life as a child and teenager has continued in his ministry with children, pastors, churches, and nurses. Aided by his faithful wife Rambai and their 3 children, the Bodas have continued to minister and preach the Word in a needy and desperate land.
Today near Hyderabad, India, there are three Banjara Tribal Ministries campuses where over 2300 needy and neglected children call home. At the BTM campuses, the children are given a safe place to sleep and live, clothes, daily food, an education and spiritual guidance and Biblical truth for living.
This is all possible through the caring gifts of God’s people through a system of sponsorship. With an investment of $25.00 per month, the needs of one child can be met in this unique and spiritual setting. These gifts provide funds for food, shelter, some clothes, personal items, teachers for education and Biblical preparation for living and effective Christian life in the future.
The ministries of BTM also include the training of pastors and the building of local churches throughout the remote villages in India. With the special gifts of many friends and churches, BTM has received funds for the building of a number of churches in areas where the people do not have resources needed to build their church. It is the policy of BTM that the people must do the manual labor of building the church so they have a real ownership in the ministry. Also, there is the great need to assist pastors and Christian workers in sharing God’s message of salvation. Sometimes this is in the need of transportation, so a number of bicycles have been given to these national missionaries to facilitate their travel in ministry.
We have a number of tools available that would deepen the understanding of the ministries at BTM and also share the financial needs. The story of Christopher’s life, Born in The Mud, is available for $8.00. For $7.00 each, we have music cd’s (In the Father's Sight & In This Storm) with songs written about India and Africa as well as songs to minister to your soul. The proceeds from these items goes 100% to India to help with the great financial challenge to care for the children and reach those who do not know the Lord.
Email For more information. For special financial gifts, make all checks payable to Encounter, mark for India and send to ERM, 2200 Blue Mountian Pkwy, Harrisburg, PA 17112. Your entire gift goes directly to the ministry of BTM; Encounter does not keep any of your funds for administrative costs. Click here to give online.
