How easy it is to say or do things, and then hope that nothing adverse or difficult happens as a result. For example, a person gossips and then hopes that no one finds out (or better yet, the person hopes he is not the subject of gossip himself). Students that do not study for tests and then pray that they will not fail are not in touch with reality.
