I Remember...
I was thinking how unique memories are to all of us.
We don’t need a computer to access them.
We don’t need an iPod to listen to them.
We don’t need a TV to watch them.
We don’t need a book to read about them.
We don’t need another person to tell us about them.
We don’t need a camera to take pictures of them.
We don’t need a vehicle to take us to them.
In the last few minutes, I...
Went back to my childhood,
Saw my parents,
Visited my high school football game,
Went to my old church that is no longer there,
And saw my faithful pastor,
Walked the hallways of college and seminary,
Stood at the front of the church and waited for my bride,
Watched as we walked hand-in-hand down honeymoon lane.
Wow! Memories are terrific! There are so many.
Our first car, home, baby, and ministry.
The blessings of God flood the memory pages.
And His grace sustained even in the darkest hours.
Memories - the mental scrapbook that brings joy to my soul.
I remember...
The first bus for Encounter.
The first team and the many that followed.
It seems like a long parade passing through my mind,
bringing joy and gladness to my heart.
Thank You God for memories,
and the tracing of Your Hand on life’s journey.
Memories - take time to make them - for soon, today will be tomorrow,
and time will slip away, but Memories last….
Guard each moment. Build and make memories of joy, peace, happiness, and that which is IMPORTANT.

Ardy, this was so beautiful. Thank you for this touching reminder to stop in the midst of the daily chaos of life and just remember everything God has done for us, given to us, accomplished though us and be thankful.

Thanks for writing this, Ardy. I just saw it in my email, and I'm so glad I opened it right away. This is such a pertinent reminder to me in the busyness of school right now. It's easy to get so caught up in papers, exams, grades, and studying and miss opportunities for fun memories! Thanks for pointing me to think about the things and people in my that are truly important.
